Initial Consultation and Planning

Scope of Work: We’ll discuss the specific areas to be painted, your preferred colors, and the desired sheen.

Color Guidance: Choose from our color chart or explore online color schemes that suit your taste. We’re here to guide you, but the choice is all yours!

Sheen Recommendations:

Body: Low sheen or satin for durability and longevity.
Trim and Doors: Semi-gloss for a polished finish.

Paint Selection: Sherwin-Williams is our go-to, but we’re happy to accommodate your preferences, including low-VOC options.

Compliance and Preparation

Lead Abatement Rules: Homes built before 1978 require special EPA-governed lead abatement procedures. If this applies, we’ll provide the necessary paperwork and include this in your estimate.

Scaffolding Needs: If your home’s height requires scaffolding, we’ll discuss this in advance, and it will be included in the estimate.

Timeline: Once all details are finalized, we’ll schedule a mutually convenient start date and provide an estimated timeline (typically 5 days).

Our Painting Process

- Water Blasting: We’ll clean your home’s exterior to remove dirt, grime, and cobwebs, ensuring a smooth surface for painting.
- Preparation: Please move vehicles away from the work area to prevent overspray damage.
- Dry Time: The house will dry overnight, though some prep work may begin on the same day.
Surface Preparation:
- Fill cracks with elastomeric caulking.
- Sand and scrape loose paint.
- Patch stucco and repair dry rot (unless extensive work by an external contractor is needed).
Masking and Protection:
- Use plastic and tape on windows, doors, and trim.
- Protect concrete, fences, patios, and landscaping with tarps and plastic.
Body Painting:
- Spray application with back rolling for stucco surfaces, ensuring a solid, even coat.
- Two coats of paint for durability and vibrancy.
Trim and Details:
- Sequentially paint trim, windows, gutters, and doors for a polished finish.
Daily Cleanup:
- At the end of each day, we’ll tidy up within the constraints of ongoing work.
Final Walkthroughs:
- Our painter will inspect the work and make any necessary touch-ups.
- We’ll do a walk-through with you, marking any imperfections with blue tape for correction.
Completion: The job isn’t finished until you are completely satisfied with the results.
